A new pathologist has recently joined our Veterinary Pathology Unit.
Nerea Cuesta finished her residency in Veterinary Pathology at the University of Glasgow and has a Master’s Degree in Science (MSc) by the Beatson Institute of Scotland. Nerea has meaningful experience in the pathological diagnosis and has taught practical classes at the School of Veterinary Medicine (University of Glasgow). She has published in national and international journals and has taken part in many conferences.
Since she joined Daniel Borrás’ Veterinary Pathology Unit in 2012, the activity has grown substantially. In addition to the usual diagnostic support techniques (immunohistochemistry and histochemistry), Echevarne’s Veterinary Unit wants to boost the molecular pathology field (PCR, RT-PCR, HIS) which progressively is being incorporated and extended in this profession.
Interdisciplinary work between Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Genetic, Toxicology and Pathology units stimulates the correlation in order to offer complete and high-quality services.
