Result Interpratations

TLI CANINE EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Normal values: 5-35 ng / mL.
Values from 2.5 to 5 are considered doubtful
Values below 2.5 are indicative of IPE
Values above 60 are compatible with pancreatitis

TLI FELINE EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Values between 12-82 ng / ml, physiological range. Possible false negative animals with partial failure, post prandial
Less than 12 ng / mL values, possible exocrine pancreatic insufficiency
Values between 82-100 ng / ml, possible pancreatitis (subclinical), liver or kidney failure
Above 100 ng / ml values, possible pancreatitis, pancreatic trauma, neoplasia, etc. Recommended imaging to differentiate

PROTEIN RATIO / CREATININE URINE

Normal values protein ratio / creatinine <0.6
Values greater than 1 are compatible with glomerular injury

EVALUATION CRITERIA - POTASSIUM BROMIDE VALUES IN DOGS:

Therapeutic serum concentration is:

  • 100 to 150 mg / dL when administered together with phenobarbital.
  • 200 to 300 mg / dL when used as monotherapy.

Some dogs, especially young ones, can tolerate higher levels, up to 400 mg / dL. The average bromide semi-elimination period in dogs is approximately 25 days. It can be evaluated during the first month and 4 months after starting the therapy.

PHENOBARBITAL EVALUATION CRITERIA ON DOGS:
Therapeutic Area: 15 - 45 mg/L
Toxic Level: > 45 mg/L
